A fireside party for Washington Syrah
Friday, Oct 30 to Sunday, Nov 1 · 12 to 5 PM · 77 Stage Road, Leavenworth, WA
In 1986, a farmer named Mike Sauer planted the first Syrah in Washington. After a barbecue, his crew buried empty bottles of French Rhône wine between the rows. They wanted to show the new vines what kind of wine to make.
It worked. Forty years later, Syrah is the third most planted red grape in the state. So we’re throwing it a birthday party.
What’s pouring
2021 Silvara Syrah. A savory Syrah with black plum, raspberry, black olive and earthy truffle. Bright acidity keeps it lively, and the long finish ends on white pepper and a stony edge. Give it a good long smell before you sip; there’s a lot going on in the glass.
How it works
- A $5 pour of our 2021 Syrah, one per person
- Take a bottle home and your $5 comes off the price
- Want more? The full tasting lineup is pouring all weekend
- Grab a seat by the fireplace inside or a fire pit out on the lawn
Something to tell your friends
Syrah and Shiraz are the same grape. Australia just calls it Shiraz.
